MUSCAT: The total value of real estate transactions in Oman rose by 6.4 per cent by the end of July 2024, reaching RO 1.73 billion compared to RO 1.63 billion during the same period in 2023.
According to preliminary figures from the National Centre for Statistics and Information, fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 38.2 million, a decrease of 0.4 per cent compared to the end of July 2023. The value of sales contracts totaled RO 631.3 million for 38,627 contracts, marking a 0.5 per cent increase in the number of contracts.
The value of mortgage contracts increased by 8.9 per cent, reaching RO 1.09 billion for 11,799 contracts. Additionally, there were 793 exchange contracts valued at RO 8.2 million.
The number of property ownerships issued by the end of July 2024 was approximately 130,647, a decrease of 5.2 per cent. The number of ownerships issued to citizens of GCC countries rose by 14.1 per cent, totaling 857 ownerships. — ONA
