MUSCAT, AUGUST 21

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) concluded its extensive communication, media and marketing campaign aimed at enhancing the visibility and growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Omani ventures throughout the Khareef Dhofar Season.

The closing ceremony, held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, featured a series of panel discussions, visual presentations and artistic performances. The event brought together a distinguished group of content creators from Oman and across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The evening's programme included insightful discussions on the role of content creation in shaping entrepreneurial narratives and its influence on travel trends. Among the notable speakers were Omar Farouk from Bahrain, Anas Iskandar from Saudi Arabia, along with Omani contributors Haitham al Farsi, Khalid al Maashani, Jassim al Alawi and Anas al Dhibi.

The "Our Entrepreneurs in Dhofar" campaign has garnered significant engagement across social media platforms and traditional media, driven by a strategic blend of media, marketing and communication initiatives. A key element of the campaign was the launch of a promotional guide highlighting over 50 SMEs actively participating in the khareef season. This guide was widely disseminated through SMEDA’s social media channels and official website, with the campaign’s flagship video alone amassing over two million views on the X platform. The Authority also collaborated with leading content creators to promote these SMEs across various tourist locations.

Additionally, the campaign spotlighted 18 SMEs on electronic billboards along Dhofar’s main roads, further amplifying their visibility. In total, the campaign generated over 25 posts, including advertisements and promotional videos. Complementing these efforts, SMEDA, in partnership with strategic collaborators such as the Challenge Oman Foundation and the Youth Centre, launched a series of specialised, interactive and leadership training programmes catering to diverse age groups.

This event marks the culmination of a highly successful campaign that has not only raised the profile of SMEs in Dhofar, but also showcased the vital role of content in driving entrepreneurial success.

Shaikh Mohammed al Ghassani, Director of the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises in Dhofar, said: "The campaign has been a remarkable success, demonstrating the incredible potential of our small and medium enterprises. By harnessing the power of content creation and strategic marketing, we have been able to elevate the visibility of our local entrepreneurs, ensuring they play a central role in our governorate's economic and cultural landscape. This event is a testament to the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in Dhofar, and I am proud of the collaborative efforts that have made this campaign so impactful."
