The General Assembly of the Athletes Committee of the Oman Hockey Association (OHA) elected Khalid al Raisi as chairman of the committee, Hashim al Shatri as vice-chairman, Abdul Jabbar al Balushi as secretary, Thani al Wahaibi as a member representing the committee in the Board of Directors of the OHA for the electoral period from 2024-2028 and Salah al Saadi as a member of the committee.

The elections were held at the headquarters of the Oman Olympic Committee in the presence of Mohammed al Mashrafi, Chairman of the Elections Committee of the OHA, and Adil al Farsi, Chairman of the Electoral and Appeals Committee, in addition to 24 people out of 35 members of the General Assembly of the Athletes Committee, which enabled the legal quorum to be completed for voting. The committee was formed of five members after they won the direct vote out of 7 candidates. The committee aims to enhance the role of athletes in developing hockey in the Sultanate of Oman.

After determining the members of the Board of Directors of the Athletes Committee of the OHA, Khalid al Raisi, expressed his happiness and gratitude, saying: "We congratulate ourselves all for having the opportunity to chair the Athletes Committee of the hockey federation. After holding a meeting with the members of the committee, it was agreed to determine the people to occupy the positions of chairman, vice-chairman and secretary of the committee. This committee seeks to take care of the affairs of athletes in hockey, whether they are players of the national teams or old and retired players. This committee is formed for the first time at the level of the Oman Hockey Association after the ministerial decision related to the administrative structure of sports federations issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

He added: "These are just the beginnings, and we expect that there will be special tasks that deal with the affairs of athletes, whether they are club or national team players, or even what serves the game in general. We are here as members looking forward to providing an additional service to the players, whatever their relationship with the committee. We have a person who represents us all and represents the players on the board of directors, and we are ready to serve them."

He pointed to the challenges facing the players, saying: "From our previous experience, we see that there are some problems facing the players, such as their rights, entitlements and moving from one place to another. Sometimes, players face difficulties in expressing their problems. We are here to deal with these matters and we expect to be part of the solutions to these challenges."
