Muscat: The Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) on Wednesday organized an introductory day to welcome new doctors who joined the specialized training programs for the academic year 2024/2025,

Around 196 doctors from various health institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, including 60 doctors from the graduates of the internship programs will start their specialized programs at the Oman Medical Specialty Board, in addition to five doctors who joined the fellowship programs locally in the specialty of pediatric intensive care at the Royal Hospital, genetic medicine and blood diseases for adults at the University Medical City (Sultan Qaboos University Hospital) and ear medicine and surgery at Al Nahda Hospital.

The introductory program included an open dialogue session, during which new doctors had the opportunity to ask questions about various aspects, including educational curricula, assessment methods, academic follow-up mechanisms, exams, and medical sources and references available in the Council's medical library.

A series of interactive meetings will be held between new doctors, training program directors, members of educational committees, and faculty members, aiming to introduce doctors to their training programs and facilitate their integration into the academic and training environment.

The meetings will be held at the Council's headquarters or training centers such as Ministry of Health hospitals (Royal Hospital, Khoula Hospital, Al Nahda Hospital, Al Masarra Hospital, the National Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery at the Royal Hospital, Nizwa Hospital, Rustaq Hospital, and Sohar Hospital), the Medical City for Military and Security Services, and the University Medical City.
