Muscat: IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its presence in the Middle East with the opening of Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa on September 1. This new property marks the debut of IHG’s boutique lifestyle brand in the region.

Situated 2,000 metres above sea level on Oman’s "Green Mountain," the resort features 173 rooms, suites, and chalets, all offering views of the surrounding peaks and canyons. The hotel aims to offer guests a unique mountain retreat experience, focusing on wellness and local culture.

James Reeves, General Manager, stated, “We’ve worked to create a space that reflects the essence of Jabal Akhdar and its rich heritage. From design elements to curated experiences, our goal is to immerse guests in the local culture and the natural beauty of the area.”

The resort’s design incorporates elements inspired by the mountain’s natural environment and Omani heritage. The property offers guests opportunities to explore nearby villages, hike through terraced gardens, and experience the tranquil atmosphere of the mountains.

The Jala Spa & Wellness center provides a range of treatments inspired by Omani traditions, with facilities including Himalayan salt rooms, thermal zones, and indoor vitality pools. The resort also offers three dining venues, including Vue Rooftop & Lounge, the highest rooftop in the Middle East, which features panoramic canyon views and a menu inspired by the ancient Zanzibari spice trade.

Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa is part of IHG’s broader Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio, with over 158 Hotel Indigo properties worldwide. This opening represents IHG’s first Hotel Indigo resort in the region, further establishing the brand’s presence in the Middle East. The resort will begin welcoming guests from 1st September 2024.
