Glasgow: The Royal Army of Oman's (RAO) music has achieved advanced positions worldwide in the World Music Competition which concluded in the Scottish city of Glasgow.
The RAO music band achieved seventh place in the playing competition after a tough competition between the participating bands.
Earlier, the RAO music band won the first place in the infantry and military discipline competition at the general level which was held in the Scottish cities of Dumbarton, Dundonald and Perth as well as the first place in the playing competition which was held in the Scottish city of Bridge of Allan.
At individuals level Warrant Officer Mohammed bin Khamis al Amri won second place in the baton-bearers competition while Warrant Officer Talal bin Ali al Maamari came third and Staff Sergeant Mahmoud bin Yousef al Sanani won fourth place in the same competition held in the city of Dundanald and Staff Sergeant Nader bin Jamaan Jabali won second place in the city of Bridge of Allan.
The RAO music band also claimed fifth place in the playing and in baton-bearers competitions Warrant Officer Mohammed bin Khamis al Amri won sixth place in the city of Perth.
The RAO music band held a musical concert during which it presented a group of international musical pieces and Omani heritage music. — ONA
