Consumer Protection Authority has issued a decision regarding the ban on the trading of used tyres.
As an amendment to its previous decision 257/2015, an administrative fine not exceeding RO1,000 will be imposed on anyone who violates the provisions of this decision, and the fine will be doubled in the event of a repeat violation.
If this violation continues, an administrative fine of RO50 will be imposed for each day during which the violation continues, provided that its total does not exceed RO2,000.
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall be effective from the day following the date of its publication.
Article 257/2015 prohibits the circulation of unused tyres that have been in production for two years.
