Oman Club secured an exciting 2-1 victory over Saham Club on Friday at the Seeb Sports Stadium, marking the opening match of the Omani league. The first half saw a balanced performance from both teams, but Oman Club quickly asserted their offensive dominance. In the 8th minute, Azzan Al Tamtami capitalised on a clever pass from Faisal Al Breiki to open the scoring for Oman.

Despite Saham's attempts to equalise, Oman's defence held firm until the 28th minute when Abdullah al Maryikhi exploited a defensive lapse, allowing Ali al Hashemi to head home the equaliser.

The second half saw a slight advantage for Saham, whose players posed a real threat to Oman's goal, but the brilliance of goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hasani prevented further goals. In the 74th minute, Al Munther al Alawi capitalised on a high ball to score Oman's second goal, restoring their lead. Despite Saham's continued efforts to find an equaliser, Oman's defence and goalkeeper held firm until the final whistle.

Sohar Club clinches victory over Al Rustaq

Sohar Club earned a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Al Rustaq Club in a match held on Friday at the Sohar Sports Complex.

The match began with an exchange of attacks between the two teams, as Rustaq missed a dangerous opportunity in the second minute. Sohar responded quickly in the 3rd minute through a shot by Abdullah Al Shabli, but it was weak and easy for Rustaq's defence.

The attempts continued from both teams, and in the 45th minute, Rustaq goalkeeper Sultan Al Raqadi made a mistake in dealing with a ball that he unsuccessfully pushed away, to reach the Portuguese player Silva, who did not hesitate to deposit it in the net, scoring Sohar's first goal before the end of the first half.

At the beginning of the second half, Rustaq tried to equalise the score, and in the 50th minute, Abdullah Al Shabli missed an opportunity to score Sohar's second goal.

In the 54th minute, Faiz Al Rashidi saved a direct shot from Fiston Abdul, maintaining his team's lead. Abdullah Al Shibli did not delay in strengthening Sohar's lead, scoring the second goal in the 64th minute after a perfect pass from Silva, placing the ball in the far corner out of the reach of the Rustaq goalkeeper. After this goal, Rustaq's hopes of a comeback diminished, and the match ended with a clean two-goal victory for Sohar.

Al Khaboura upsets Al Shabab

Al Khaboura achieved a valuable victory over Al Shabab with a score of 2-1 in the match that was held at the Rustaq Sports Complex Stadium.

The match began with caution from both teams, as Al Khaboura, who had recently been promoted to the Omantel League, Zakaria Al Qartoubi opened the scoring for Al Khaboura in the 15th minute after a successful penetration between Al Shabab defenders.

Al Shabab continued their attempts to equalise the score, but Al Khaburah added a second goal through Hisham Al Balti from a penalty kick in the 36th minute. Before the end of the first half, Khalid Al Buraiki managed to reduce the difference by scoring a goal for Al Shabab in the second minute of stoppage time. Despite Al Shabab's pressure in the second half, Al Khabura held on for the win.

According to the results of the first round, Al Seeb tops the general standings of the Omani League teams after the first round with 3 points and a goal difference from four other teams that achieved victory, namely Sohar, Al Khaburah, Oman and Al Nahda.
