The first 'Phygital Football' Championship in the Sultanate of Oman, which was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), concluded with four matches on the last day, including two semifinals, a match to determine third and fourth place and the final match that crowned Junior Style as champions of the championship.
In the first semifinal, JR Style team met Class on Grass team. The digital confrontation started with the superiority of Junior Style team, who ended the match with a score of 7-5. When moving to the physical side, Junior Style team maintained their lead by scoring a single goal, ending the match with a total of 8-5 and securing their place in the final.
The second semifinal brought together Fearless team and Wa7sh team. Fearless team excelled in the digital side with a big win with a score of 9-1, and despite Wa7sh team's attempts to come back in the match by scoring three goals in the physical side, the final score was 9-4 in favour of Fearless team, who in turn qualified for the final match.
In the third-fourth place match, Class on Grass faced off against Wa7sh. The digital match ended with Class on Grass winning 6-5, and with their physical dominance continuing to dominate by scoring three more goals, they finished the match with a 9-5 overall score, claiming third place in the tournament.
The final between JR Style and Fearless was full of excitement and suspense. Fearless opened the scoring in the first minute, but Junior Style quickly equalised and scored the second goal, ending the first half on the digital side with a 3-1 lead.
In the second half on the digital side, JR Style continued to press and managed to score two more goals, bringing the score to 5-1. Despite Fearless’ attempts to reduce the deficit in the final minutes by scoring three goals, the final digital score was 5-4 in Junior Style’s favour.
The two teams moved on to the physical side of the final match, where JR Style continued to shine. The first half witnessed complete control from Junior Style who scored the opening goal with a powerful shot. In the second half, Junior Style continued their dominance by scoring two more goals, ending the match with a well-deserved win with an aggregate score of 8-4, to be crowned champions of the first 'Phygital Football' tournament.
Junior Style received a first-place prize of RO 500, and qualified to represent Oman in the upcoming international tournament in Russia. Fearless team got a second-place prize of RO 300 and Class on Grass team won a third-place prize of RO 200.
