The semifinals of the Beach Games School Championship, organised by the Oman School Sports Association, will kick off on Wednesday at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Dhofar Governorate. School teams will compete in handball and volleyball, with each team seeking to secure a place in the final match to be held on Thursday morning.
In handball, the Muscat Education team, the title holder, will face the Al Dakhiliyah Education team in a match expected to be full of excitement and competition. While the group leader, the Al Batinah North Education team, will meet the Al Dhahirah Education team, in a match that will decide the qualification card to the final.
As for beach volleyball, there will be two strong confrontations, as the Al Batinah North Education team will meet the Al Batinah South Education team, while the Al Sharqiyah South Education team will face the Dhofar Education team.
Group stage results
The final round of the group stage in beach volleyball witnessed 8 matches, where the Al Batinah South Education team outperformed the Al Dhahirah Education team with a score of 2-0, and the Al Sharqiyah South Education team achieved a victory with the same score over the Al Sharqiyah North Education team. The Al Batinah North Education team also outperformed Dhofar Education 2-0, and the Muscat Education team defeated Al Buraimi Education with the same score. In other matches, the South Al Batinah Education team defeated Al Wusta Education, and the Al Sharqiyah South Education team achieved a second victory over Al Dhahirah Education. The Al Batinah North Education team also defeated Al Dakhiliyah Education, and the Dhofar Education team ended its matches with a victory over Al Buraimi Education.
As for the beach handball competitions, the last round witnessed four exciting matches. The Al Batinah North Education team defeated Muscat Education on penalties with a score of 2-1 in a thrilling match. In the remaining matches, the Al Sharqiyah South Education team outperformed South Al Batinah Education 2-0, the Al Dakhiliyah Education team defeated Dhofar Education with the same score, and the Al Dhahirah Education team defeated Al Sharqiyah North Education 2-0.
