Muscat: The inspection unit of the Security and Safety Services has dealt with 12,000 illegal workers since the beginning of this year with more than 9,700 deported and the rest of them were referred to the competent authorities.
The CEO of the Security and Safety Services confirmed that the inspection unit has the power to close any company involved in repeated violations of the Omanization quota.
He said that granting the power of judicial inspection to the Security and Safety Services enables it to activate the labour inspection system to ensure abidance by government decisions related to the nationalized professions and Omanization rates.
The inspection unit has prepared workers welfare facilities that accommodate more than 1,000 people and are equipped with the latest technological and communication systems completed with security, health and safety equipment.
