The General Directorate of Sports Care and Development at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY), represented by the Department of Medicine and Sports Sciences, in cooperation with Abbott Nutrition, organised a workshop entitled 'Sports Science.'

The workshop aimed to spread awareness and health culture among athletes by providing specialised lectures in various fields of sports sciences, as part of a series of workshops and lectures provided by the department to enhance health knowledge among athletes.

The workshop saw the participation of 50 male and female players, coaches and physiotherapists from various national teams, federations and sports committees in all governorates of Oman taking part.

Hossam Adely explained that physiotherapy plays a pivotal role in treating sports injuries, by rehabilitating athletes and helping them regain their motor functions. He stressed the importance of coordination between the medical and sports teams to ensure the safe return of athletes to the stadiums, with a focus on avoiding recurrence of injury, and caring for the injured part to ensure full recovery.
