Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has condemned the brutal bombing launched by the Israeli occupation forces on the Al-Tabi'een School, which houses displaced persons in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in the Gaza Strip, on Saturday, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The bombing resulted in the martyrdom of more than 100 Palestinians and the injury of dozens of unarmed civilians, a new crime added to the record of heinous crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people.
The Sultanate of Oman affirmed that targeting schools and civilian facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international legitimacy resolutions, and renewed its call on the international community to take immediate action to stop these blatant attacks and work to protect innocent civilians, hold the Israeli occupation forces accountable and impose international sanctions on Israel.
The Sultanate of Oman also reiterated its firm and supportive position on the Palestinian cause, and the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to defend themselves and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, by the provisions of the Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
