The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) has recorded several violations on its online platform, Naql, since its launch in 2020.

A total of 11,664 violations were related to passenger transport activities, while 8,030 violations were associated with the transportation of goods.

These violations mainly included the practice of transporting expatriate passengers and transporting goods by expatriates.

At the same time, through this platform, seven licenses were issued for taxi service applications, two applications for transporting passengers by bus, five applications for transporting goods, and four licenses were issued for land transport shelters to provide safe and suitable facilities.

Since its launch, the “Naql” platform has recorded a noticeable increase in the means of transportation registered on the platform, which exceeded 490,000 means of land transportation (passengers and goods), while the number of passengers transported via registered means of transportation exceeded 12 million passengers.

Naql Platform facilitates the creation of Vehicle Operating Cards (VOCs), permits, and licenses for all individuals and institutions operating within the Sultanate in land transport activities as per the Land Transport Law of the Sultanate of Oman.

It has been linked to the systems of both the Royal Oman Police and Invest Easy in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to track and regulate the land transport details, drivers, and activities authorized for the companies.

The Naql platform was developed to integrate a database of all road transport users in the Sultanate, including private buses, trucks, and taxi drivers, to ensure compliance with transport laws.

The model enabled the private sector to provide services through operational contracts. It will also implement projects that support the integration and organization of the transport sector as a whole.
