The Dhofar International Expo 2024, a hallmark event running from August 2 to 8, began at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex in Salalah on Friday.

This year’s expo was inaugurated under the auspices of Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour.

Organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the expo underscores the nation’s unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and supporting local enterprises.

Visitors are treated to a rich and diverse programme, featuring activities such as caravanning, camping, equestrian sports, marine activities, mountaineering, motorcycling and 4x4 off-road adventures.

Highlights of the expo include impressive demonstrations of radio-controlled aircraft, paragliding displays, and rescue operations by ambulance and civil defence teams. Moreover, the expo showcases cutting-edge advancements in renewable energy technologies, reflecting Oman’s forward-thinking approach to sustainable development. The second edition of the Dhofar International Exhibition has witnessed significant success, surpassing the organisers’ expectations. This year’s exhibition has attracted over 80 participating companies from both inside and outside Oman, doubling the number from the first edition.

Khalid al Shanfari, the exhibition organiser, stated that this remarkable growth reflects the increasing prominence of the exhibition as an important economic and cultural event. He added that selecting the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Complex as the venue contributed to attracting more participants and provided an ideal environment for establishing business partnerships. The exhibition features a wide range of participants, including companies from various sectors such as industry and services.

Shaikh Naif Fadel, Chairman of OCCI, Dhofar Branch, noted that the exhibition brings together major investors and companies under one roof, offering visitors a rich and diverse experience.

Shaikh Naif pointed out that the exhibition supports the government’s efforts in achieving Oman Vision 2040.
