The work on Al Suwaiq Hospital project has completed 60 per cent. The total cost of the hospital exceeds RO 76 million. With a built-up area of 33,440 square metres out of a total area of 250,000 square metres, the hospital has a capacity of 300 beds.
Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North, said that the upcoming 3-storey hospital includes outpatient clinics, a kidney treatment unit, a surgery department, an internal medicine department, a gynaecology and obstetrics department, a paediatric department, a day care unit, an intensive care unit, a paediatric intensive care unit, a premature baby care unit, a cardiac care unit, delivery rooms, an operating theatre, an emergency unit, among other facilities.
In addition to Al Suwaiq Hospital, a number of other health service facilities are under construction in the governorates and will have a positive impact in terms of providing healthcare services to citizens. These include a kidney dialysis unit in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah, which is 40 per cent complete, a kidney dialysis unit in the Wilayat of Saham, which is 80 per cent complete and is expected to be opened at the beginning of next year. A kidney dialysis unit is also under construction in the Wilayat of Suhar with funding from Jusoor Foundation. Also under construction are the health centres in Sur Al Balush and Mukhlif in Saham. Expansion work is also underway at the Al Tarif and Al Multaqa health centres in the Wilayat of Suhar and the Mashaiq Health Center in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq, the governor said.
