Paris: Oman’s shooter Said al Khatri and swimmer Issa al Adawi concluded their campaign in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Al Adawi finished as sixth in the preliminary heats of the 100m freestyle swimming event after clocking 53.19 Seconds. Al Khatri finished the preliminary qualification of Men’s Trap event in 30th place with 114 points.

The 25-year-old swimmer was looking to break his personal best of 51.69 seconds but it was a disappointing show as he could not get a better score than Tokyo Olympics 2020 which was 51.81 seconds.

Speaking after the event, Al Adawi said, "My goal was to register a better show but this did not happen. However, I will continue working hard to improve myself and learn from this Olympics. The Olympic Games featured attendance of world's best swimmers with large experience beside the huge crowd and energy at the main venue. All these added as valuable experience for my future assignments. I am still looking forward to delivering my best in the upcoming events.” In the heats two at the 100m freestyle event in Paris 2, swimmer Ovesh Purahoo from Mauritius took first place with a timing of 52.22 seconds followed by Nixon Hernandez with 52.73 seconds. The finals for the 100m freestyle will take place on Thursday to determine the top three winners.
