Muscat: The budget airline, SalamAir, will add Mumbai and Bangalore to its list of new destinations from September, bringing its number of destinations in the Republic of India to 8.
The expansion of SalamAir’s operational operations in the Republic of India comes within the framework of enhancing strategic plans and meeting the growing demand for travel between the Sultanate of Oman, India, and the GCC.
On September 2, SalamAir will start operating its first flights to Mumbai, with four weekly flights, while its flights to Bangalore will start operating on September 6, 2024, with two weekly flights.
Adrian Hamilton Mans, CEO of SalamAir, said that the company sought to increase its network of destinations in the vital Indian subcontinent region to provide diverse travel options at competitive prices, noting that with the launch of the Mumbai and Bangalore stations, SalamAir reaches 8 destinations in India, in addition to Delhi, Calicut, Chennai, Lucknow, Jaipur and Hyderabad.
The CEO of Salam Air indicated that in conjunction with the Dhofar Khareef season 2024, the company began operating direct flights to seasonal destinations linking Salalah, Sohar, Fujairah, Baghdad, and Bahrain, in addition to its summer destinations, which include Baku, Almaty, Tirana, and Trabzon, in June 2024.
He added that this step achieved a 9 percent increase in its operational capacity to Salalah compared to the same period in 2023, explaining that the launch of the company's new destinations during the current month of July also achieved a 14 percent increase in its operational capacity in India and 29 percent in Pakistan compared to the previous period, succeeding in increasing its operational operations by 24 percent during the month of July compared to June 2024.
SalamAir commenced operations in 2017 with a focus on developing affordable air travel to Oman.

SalamAir serves six domestic destinations in Oman and 37 cities in 18 countries.
