Muscat Municipality has floated a number of tenders as part of its plans to host the Muscat Festival in 2024.
The last date to receive tender documents is August 17, while bids will be opened on September 3.
These tenders include the supply, installation and operation of advertising screens, the supply and operation of theatres in Qurm Natural Park, Al Naseem and Al Amerat.
Following disruptions during the pandemic-related restrictions during 2020–22, a renamed version called Muscat Nights returned in 2023.
Muscat Nights was held at four locations: Qurum Natural Park, Al Naseem Park, the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC), and the Oman Automobile Association. All four venues are open daily to the public and visitors from 4 to 11 pm, while in weekends the locations will remain open until midnight, except for Qurum Nature Park, which will close in weekends at 11:30 pm.
Muscat Festival began in 1998 and was designed as a place to keep children entertained during the school holidays, but over the years it has evolved.
Scope of work
As per the scope of work, Muscat Municipality intends to design and construct modern outdoor theaters that will be used for Muscat Festival activities in various locations in Muscat Governorate.
