AL AWABI: A ceremony was held on Friday in the Wilayat of Al Awabi, located in the Al Batinah South Governorate, to honour the winners of the Holy Quran memorisation competition, supervised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.
The event was graced by Dr Shaikh Kahlan bin Nabhan al Kharousi, Assistant Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, who delivered a lecture emphasising the importance of the Holy Quran in the life of the Islamic nation.
Dr Shaikh Kahlan urged parents to encourage their children to read and memorise the Holy Quran, highlighting its role as the foundation that elevates the nation's status and position.
After the ceremony, the winners in the various competition levels were honoured. The competition comprised of five levels: the first level involved memorisation of 10 parts, the second in 5 parts, the third in 3 parts, the fourth in 2 parts, and the fifth in 1 part. — ONA
