Al Noor take on Al Ahli in goalball final today

Muscat: The Gulf Clubs and Associations Challenge Goalball tournament for the Blind, organised by Al Noor Associations for the Blind in cooperation with Oman Paralympic Committee, will see decisive competitions on Wednesday to reveal the champion.


Qatar led the overall standings in the first round with 15 points, followed by Oman's Al Noor team with 12 points, Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli team with 9 points, and Bahrain team in fourth place with 6 points.


The final will see Al Noor take on Al Ahli. HH Sayyid Fahr bin Fatik al Said will give prizes to the winners.

In an exciting match of the first round, which began with a kick-off for Bahrain taken by Ali Asad. Omani player Imad Haji intercepted the ball and powerfully shot it to score the first goal. Then a penalty kick was converted by Rasheed al Siyabi to put Al Noor ahead 2-0. It wasn't long before the brilliant Imad Haji scored the third goal with a powerful shot, followed by his teammate Rasheed al Siyabi scoring the fourth goal in the second minute.


Hussein Mishaim, coach of Bahrain team, tried to make changes to lineup in an attempt to get back into the game, but Al Noor's Khamis al Salti quickly responded by scoring the fifth goal. The game continued with an exchange of powerful shots between the two teams until the sixth goal came for Al Noor through Imad Haji.


After several attempts, the brilliant Imad Haji managed to score the team's seventh goal. Al Siyabi returned to score the eighth goal and ninth goal, then Khamis al Salti concluded the match with a goal to be 10-0.

UAE vs Kuwait


In another match, Ahmed Yaqoub opened the scoring for the UAE from the very first moment after the kick-off. Kuwait players tried to equalise, but the UAE defence successfully repelled them. Ahmed Yaqoub returned to score the second goal in the second minute. The UAE team continued to dominate and scored two more goals through Luay Saeed Alai, making the score 4-0. Then Mohamed Al Azmi managed to score his team's first goal. Ahmed Yaqoub quickly responded by scoring the fifth goal for his team.


Yousef Mohamed Khalef managed to score the second goal for Al Busaire, making the score 5-2. The excitement continued with an exchange of shots, and the first half ended with the UAE leading 8-5. In the second half, caution prevailed between the two teams until the middle of the half, despite Al Busaire's attempts to reduce the deficit, UAE players repelled all attacks, and the match ended with the UAE winning 10-5.

Saudi vs Qatar


In the final match of the first round, the game began with a kick-off for the Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli team, but Qatar players intercepted by Mohamed al Muhammad in the second minute, and Mubarak Al Shahrni quickly equalised for Al Ahli. The excitement continued until the middle of the first half when Akram Madi and Mohamed Hemam scored two goals for Qatar, making the score 3-1. Al Ahli's level dropped and they conceded another goal from Akram Madi, ending the first half with a score of 5-1 in favour of Qatar.


In the second half, Waleed al Kaabi scored a goal for Al Ahli from a penalty kick. Mohamed Hemam scored the sixth goal for Qatar. The exchange of goals continued between the two teams, and the match ended with Qatar winning 11-6.
