MANAH: Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah organised hosted a forum on integrated fish farming. It dealt with the latest technologies used in the aquaculture sector.
The forum stemmed from efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, to enhance the role of the fish farming sector in economic development and food security.
Eight working papers presented by experts and specialists in the field dealt with local and international fish farming methods, investment in commercial fish farming projects and the quality and safety of freshwater fish.
The participants also explored the most important modern practices that guarantee the safety of fish products, marketing methods, successful experiences in this field and the challenges posed to the fish farming sector. - ONA
