Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed on Thursday that the perpetrators of the recent Wadi Kabir shooting incident were three Omani brothers. All three attackers were neutralized by security forces.
“The Royal Oman Police is committed to keep the public informed about the developments in the shooting incident in Wadi Al Kabir. It has been confirmed that the three perpetrators involved in the incident were Omani brothers who died due to their resistance against the security forces. Investigations have revealed that they were influenced by misguided ideologies,” said ROP statement.
The Royal Oman Police extends its gratitude to everyone for their continued interest, vigilance, and dedication to the safety and security of their homeland.
In a statement, the ROP detailed the joint efforts of police, military, and security services in handling the situation. "The Royal Oman Police and the military and security services have completed the procedures for dealing with the shooting incident that occurred in the Wadi Al Kabir area in the Muscat Governorate," read the statement. "Investigations into the incident are ongoing."
Among the injured were several policemen and personnel from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA). All injured individuals have been transported to various hospitals for medical treatment.
The authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details surrounding the incident.
