MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices rose by 1.7 per cent at the end of the first quarter of 2024, totalling RO 9.537 billion, up from RO 9.373 billion in the same period of 2023.
Preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information revealed that crude oil activities fell by 3.3 per cent, registering RO 2.554 billion, while natural gas activities increased by 3 per cent, reaching RO 437.100 million.
Non-oil activities saw a 4.5 per cent rise, amounting to RO 6.803 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2024, compared to RO 6.511 billion at the same time in 2023.
Industrial activities recorded RO 1.988 billion in the first quarter of this year, up from RO 1.881 billion in the first quarter of 2023. Agriculture, forestry, and fishing activities totalled RO 219 million, while service activities were valued at RO 4.596 billion. — ONA
