MUSCAT: To promote sustainable development by nurturing local expertise, the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has launched the Elmam programme.

This initiative is designed to equip new employees in the government sector with essential skills and knowledge, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Ejada Development as an educational partner, the programme aims to cultivate qualified national talents adept at transferring and applying knowledge effectively.

Dr Fathiya Abdullah Al Rashdi, Vice President for Programme Affairs at the Royal Academy of Management, emphasised that the Elmam programme for eligible new government employees is pivotal to the Academy's comprehensive initiatives.

This initiative reflects His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's profound commitment to nurturing and empowering Omani cadres. The Academy remains committed to integrating modern knowledge, tools, and technologies into Oman's social and economic advancement, aiming to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and transparency across all sectors.

Dr Fathiya further emphasised that the programme takes participants on a rich journey that builds national leadership capabilities with renewed thinking, enabling them to adapt to continuous and accelerating change. 200 employees who recently joined government institutions, with less than one year of practical experience, will participate in the programme. Divided into five cohorts, they will engage with comprehensive content covering ethics, the fundamentals of government work, innovation, digital transformation, modern government management, and national trends.

The goal is to prepare these employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance functional and administrative performance in the government sector.

The five-day programme consists of five main themes, primarily covering national trends, 'Oman Vision 2040', and national programmes. It emphasises work ethics and fundamentals such as leadership, critical thinking, the code of conduct, and improving work quality and efficiency. Additionally, the programme focuses on self-development and continuous learning skills. Innovation and creativity are essential for achieving strategic goals, along with self-marketing, institutional loyalty, integration between institutions, teamwork, communication, and effective interaction with various leaders both inside and outside the institution.

Finally, the programme delves into modern government management, focusing on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cybersecurity, performance indicators, goal setting, and institutional innovation.
