Hikers should be well prepared for such experience by ensuring to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy, comfortable footwear. They should carry water and food as there may be limited water sources along some sections of the trail. Maps or guidebooks should be included and ensure familiarity with the trail before setting out. Most of all, hiking should be totally avoided in bad weather or during midday when temperatures are high.
