Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has fined a textile showroom in Seeb for selling military uniforms, which are prohibited from being offered for sale.
The establishment was found distributing prohibited military clothing to several shops in the Wilayat of Seeb, Muscat Governorate. This action is part of the CPA's ongoing campaign to combat illegal sales practices and confiscate prohibited goods.
The CPA launched an investigation following a consumer report indicating that the commercial establishment was involved in the sale of these prohibited items. Upon verification, the CPA conducted a raid on the showroom, seizing 520 pieces of military clothing intended for consumer sale. A violation report was subsequently issued against the establishment.
Legal actions are being pursued against the violators in accordance with Resolution No. (9/2019), which forbids the circulation of military clothing and accessories. The CPA continues to emphasize its commitment to addressing vendor abuses and protecting consumer rights.
