Muscat: Business leaders in Oman are taking proactive steps to support their communities through a series of impactful initiatives. These efforts aim to address both immediate needs and long-term development goals across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
One notable initiative is led by local Omani entrepreneur Said bin Ali al Hakmani, who has launched a programme to provide housing and financial aid to around 30 low-income families in the Wilayat of Nakhal in Al Batinah South Governorate.
This initiative complements existing social welfare efforts and underscores a commitment to ensuring housing security for vulnerable community members during the challenging summer months.
Al Hakmani stressed, “My goal with this initiative is to motivate and encourage businessmen in all the governorates of Oman, hoping that they pay attention to financially disadvantaged groups, show them their concern, and take even small steps to help them.” He mentioned that his next plan for this summer is to launch an initiative for people with special needs.
Simultaneously, Shell Oman is offering summer internships designed to give young Omanis practical experience in real-world projects. These internships not only enhance participants’ professional skills but also contribute to workforce development and economic growth, reinforcing the business sector’s role in shaping the future of Oman’s economy.
Education remains a cornerstone of these community efforts, with businesses sponsoring a variety of educational programs such as summer camps, workshops, scholarships, and Quran memorisation courses.
These initiatives enrich the educational experiences of local youth, promote cultural and religious values, and strengthen community bonds across the nation.
The collaborative approach involving businesses, government bodies, and residents working together underscores Oman’s unity and resilience in the face of seasonal challenges.
