SQU, Saint Petersburg University ink pact for student exchange

MOSCOW: The Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and Saint Petersburg State University (SSPU) in the Russian Federation signed a cooperation agreement in the field of student exchange, on Sunday.


The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Oman Day exhibition held at the Moscow Kremlin Museums.


The agreement includes undergraduate and postgraduate students and provides for receiving students from SSPU to study at SQU and allows SQU students to study at SSPU with the aim of enhancing the university’s plans for international cooperation and exploring ways of cooperation in areas of common interest.


The agreement was signed by Sayyida Dr Mona bint Fahd al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University, and Dr Sergei Vladimir, Vice-President of Saint Petersburg State University.


The signing took place in the presence of Hamoud bin Salim al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation, Abdullah bin Hamad al Riyami, Head of Cultural Cooperation Department at the Foreign Ministry and Jamal bin Hassan al Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum.


Saint Petersburg State University is one of the oldest and most well-known universities in the Russian Federation, it was founded in 1724 by Peter the Great and is considered as one of the leading educational institutions in the Russian Federation. — ONA
