MUSCAT: The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) has issued a call for expressions of interest (EoIs) from top engineering and construction firms to develop a 5-star hotel in Muscat. This project, part of a grand mixed-use development in the Al Bustan area, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2027 and will be operated by the renowned international hospitality group Four Seasons.
The hotel will feature 200 rooms and will be situated at Marina Bandar A’Rawdha, a prime waterfront location. The broader 180,000-square-meter development will include 91 branded luxury apartments, food and beverage outlets, and high-end retail stores.
The scope of the project extends beyond the hotel itself. It encompasses the renovation of the Marina Bandar A’Rawdha, the oldest and largest marina in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the construction of ancillary utility buildings. Omran anticipates the entire project to be completed within four to five years.
According to the tender notification, bidders must be specialists in the construction and delivery of integrated tourism complex projects, as well as mixed-use real estate and tourism development projects. The deadline for EoI submission is set for July 18.
This development follows an agreement signed in May 2022 between Omran and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, emphasized that the Middle East remains a crucial part of Four Seasons' growth strategy.
He noted that the company is eager to provide unparalleled experiences in vibrant destinations like Muscat and expressed excitement about collaborating with OMRAN Group on their visionary plans for Oman’s tourism sector. Carnahan highlighted that the new Four Seasons offering is expected to attract luxury guests and residents from around the world, contributing to the strategic expansion of Muscat.
The new Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Muscat will offer an urban-style resort, appealing to both business and leisure travelers. The development will also feature private residences with stunning views of the Sea of Oman, providing a unique blend of mountain and seaside luxury.
