Eleven governorates are hosting the Future Entrepreneur Boot Camp for school students. Amid an atmosphere full of passion and creativity, the young pioneers began their adventure in the Future Entrepreneur Boot Camp, which continues its events and activities from the beginning of this month until August in eleven governorates.
The camp, which aims to promote and develop creative and innovative thinking, is one of the most important initiatives produced by the Promising Omani Startups Programme.
The camp also aims to empower and strengthen the next generation with innovative entrepreneurial thinking, prepare them for the world of entrepreneurship and startup companies, empower students to be able to adopt advanced technical projects, in addition to developing society and the economy.
Lama al Rajhi, Communication Specialist at the Rising Omani Startup Programme, said, “The startup programme, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, aims in this camp, in its second edition, to spread the culture of startup companies and enhance awareness for the emerging generation. It aims to enhance the culture of entrepreneurship for students and the concepts of startup companies, and to give students the skill of planning and finding solutions to problems in a way that serves the various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman through having technological and innovative solutions.”
Humaid al Kamashki, a trainer at the camp, said, “Students participate in this training camp to develop leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship skills through a variety of activities and events. It represents an important opportunity for students to exchange ideas and knowledge about entrepreneurship, and develop students’ skills to become leaders of the future.”
The number of beneficiaries was about 50 students from each governorate, with a total of 550 students in all governorates, and it is for school students enrolled in classes (seventh, eighth, and ninth).
The camp covers five days in each of the governorates that host it, covering eight sectors, including: health, financial, logistical, agricultural, tourism, maritime, energy, and technical sectors.
The organising of the camp came from the interest of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in the main axes of the Promising Omani Startups Programme, including the axis of capacity building for startups, which includes school education initiatives.
It is important to enhance students' abilities to think innovatively, adapt to rapid changes in the labour market, and search for modern alternatives in various fields, which is essential for entrepreneurship and personal growth.
