MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism on Monday signed a usufruct agreement with OMRAN Group to develop Majlis Al Jinn Cave in the Wilayat of Qurrayat, Governorate of Muscat.
The usufruct entails the establishment of a tourism and environmental project that will activate the cave’s components by providing special protection tools for adventurers and service facilities.
It was signed by Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism and Dr Hashel Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group.
As per the usufruct, OMRAN Group will undertake the operational aspects of the project, as well as employ and train trainers.
OMRAN Group will ensure that wildlife is preserved inside the cave and the surrounding areas. It will also cooperate with specialised operators to develop a sustainable and long-term plan to activate the location.
It is worth noting that Majlis Al Jinn Cave’s floor area is as big as 58,000 square metres. Its capacity stands at 4 million cubic metres with a length of 310 meters and a width of 225 metres. - ONA
