Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and the Republic of Tunisia have strengthened their air services cooperation through a newly signed agreement, revising the original accord from 1985.
This agreement facilitates unlimited direct flights between Oman and Tunisia, aiming to enhance operational and technical collaboration for the benefit of both nations.
It includes 23 articles and a special annex detailing the air route schedule, outlining economic provisions and regulations for operational cooperation.
This empowers designated airlines to operate passenger and cargo flights between the airports of both countries and allows for code-sharing arrangements.
Oman currently holds bilateral air transport agreements with 124 countries, which regulate air transport services and foster civil aviation relations.
The CAA remains committed to enhancing global air transport cooperation and increasing airline operations to and from Omani airports, thereby boosting trade, tourism, and economic and social activities.
The agreement was signed by Eng Nayef bin Ali al Abri, Chairman of the CAA, in a ceremony attended by several officials from the civil aviation authorities of both countries.
