NIZWA: Al Dakhiliyah governorate unveiled its plans for the highly anticipated 2025 Entrepreneurship and Innovation Award at Al Shahba Hall in Nizwa on Tuesday.
This comes in compliance with the royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik emphasising the importance of the small and medium enterprises sector and entrepreneurship, especially projects based on artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
During the inauguration ceremony, Shaikh Hilal bin Said bin Hamdan al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, signed a number of partnership and support agreements for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Award with a number of companies in the presence of Walis, members of the municipal council, OCCI members and other officials.
Al Hajri said: “The governorate has been actively implementing programmes to support entrepreneurs by offering financial assistance, business development workshops, and mentorship to help them overcome obstacles and succeed in their ventures. The governorate studies the feedback from the beneficiaries of these services and updates the quality of services.” The governor also praised the role played by Nizwa University and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa in participating in framing and preparing the criteria of the award.
Two strategic partnership and support agreements were signed with Ooredoo and PDO for providing financial support, resources, and expertise for the award.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Award in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate aims to align strategies with Oman Vision 2040, promote best sustainable practices, engage stakeholders and decision-makers, enhance the Sultanate of Oman’s position regionally and internationally, enhance the culture of institutional excellence, and encourage competitiveness and innovation, in addition to enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and national product reliability. Furthermore, the award strengthens individuals and institutions by offering mentorship programs, networking opportunities, and knowledge-sharing platforms, creating a supportive environment for building relationships, exchanging ideas, and fostering growth in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
