Contracts signed for new tourism projects in Oman

MuscatL The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) signed 10 contracts under the usufruct system to implement a number of projects on government tourist lands, with an investment cost of more than RO6 million.


The contracts were signed between Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and representatives of various companies.

The projects that will be implemented include a three-star hotel and a tourist rest house in the state of Salalah, a tourist camp in the Al-Khudf area of Thumrait, a 3-star tourist resort in the wilayat of Shalim and the Hallaniyat Islands in the Dhofar Governorate, and the establishment of a three-star hotel, an adventure center, and a luxury tourist camp in Barakat al Sharaf and a three-star resort in Misfat Al Abriyyin in the Wilayat of Al Hamra in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate


Projects also include a luxury tourist camp in Wadi Mastal and a tourist camp in the Al Abyad area in the Wilayat of Nakhal in the South Al Batinah Governorate, in addition to a luxury tourist camp in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali in the South al Sharqiyah Governorate.


Amira bint Iqbal al Lawati, Director General of Tourism Development, said that the signing of the usufruct contracts is part of the investment program in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.Salem bin Sareed, owner of the Jabal Shams Hotel project in the Wilayat of Al Hamra in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, said that these projects come in line with the growing growth of tourists in governorates, in addition to the growth in domestic tourism in recent years.


He explained that the project includes a three-star hotel and a training center for mountain adventures, which will contribute to introducing the region and various types of adventures, such as mountains, valleys, and mountain paths that connect Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to other governorates. The center will also provide information to those interested in adventures about the routes to which tourists must adhere.
