MUSCAT: Oman football team players are currently undergoing an intensive training sessions ahead of Kyrgyzstan clash which will decide the group topper on Tuesday. The coaching staff of the team headed by Jaroslav Silhavy and his assistant team focused on stress relief, recovery exercises and tactical training during Saturday’s sessions. The team resumed more tactical drills on Sunday. The preparatory trainings took place at Royal Oman Police Stadium in Al Wattaya while the main warm-up training will take place on Monday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex where the head coach will finalise the start up list.
Red Warriors confirmed their progression to the next and deciding stage of the Preliminary Joint Qualification for the Fifa World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 following the 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei by 3-0 while Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia’s encounter ended by a 1-1 draw.
Abdulrahman al Mushefri, the man of the previous game, received a warm welcome from his teammates during the training session on Saturday. It was a recognition from the team for his outstanding performance during Chinese Taipei match as he scored two goals. The 25-year-old The 25-year-old was named as one of the Match day 5 Star Performers by the AFC.
On the other side, Kyrgyzstan delegation arrived in Muscat ahead of the match on Tuesday. The opponent began their training sessions at the Royal Courts Stadium in Al Khoudh, while they will get the chance to train in the main venue on Monday. The press conference and the technical meeting will be held on Monday. Oman’s head coach Silhavy and Kyrgyzstan’s coach Stefan Tarkovic will highlight on the latest readiness of both teams ahead of the awaiting clash.
Oman currently are leading group D by 12 points followed by Kyrgyzstan with 10 points. Malaysia is in third place with seven points while Chinese Taipei in the bottom of the group with no points.
