"Let's Be an Achievement," has once again showcased the remarkable talents and creativity of individuals with special needs in North al Batinah during the sixth annual art exhibition organized by the Directorate General of Social Development in North Batinah.
Hasan Ali Khalfan al Farsi, Director of the Partnership and Community Development Department, said, "The Al-Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Sohar organized this art exhibition for talented and creative individuals with disabilities in painting, under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Hujija bint Jaifar al Said. The exhibition aims to raise community awareness about the talents of individuals with disabilities, integrate them into society, and encourage private sector institutions to provide financial support for the center's various programs."
This year's exhibition featured 81 artworks created by 70 participants from Al Wafa Social Centers and Autism Centers across North al Batinah.
What makes this exhibition unique is that it provided a vibrant portrayal of Bedouin life and wildlife, capturing the essence of the region's natural and cultural heritage. Each piece reflects the participants' artistic skills and their ability to convey the beauty and challenges of their surroundings through art showing that nothing can stop them from being productive and adds value to the soceity.
This initiative is aimed at highlighting the exceptional abilities of people with special needs, promoting their integration into society and recognizing their contributions to the cultural landscape. The displayed artworks ranged from paintings of desert landscapes to detailed native wildlife, each reflecting the unique perspective and talent of its artist.
The event not only celebrated artistic expression but also served as a platform for raising awareness about the potential and capabilities of individuals with special needs. The participants, who come from various Al Wafa Social Centers, received guidance and support from coaches and instructors who are art lovers.
The exhibition attracted a diverse audience, including art enthusiasts, community leaders, and representatives from social and cultural organizations.
Visitors were surprised by the spirit of Bedouin and wildlife themes, demonstrating that such paintings can tell stories and touch hearts too.
