Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) celebrated with the most outstanding players, coaches and admin members for the 2023-2024 season of Omantel league during the season award event on Sunday.
The celebration took place at the Novotel Muscat Airport hotel under the auspices of Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in the presence of Salim bin Said al Wahaibi, OFA Chairman, and officials. Seeb’s defender Mohammed al Musallami was named as the best player of the season, while Seeb head coach Jorvan Vieira claimed the best coach award.
Seeb’s goalie Ahmed al Rawahi grabbed the best goalkeeper prize while Oman’s club Nasser al Rawahi won the best youth player. Waleed al Musallami from Al Nasr Club received the award of top league scorer. Ahmed al Khusaibi named as the best match official while Ayman al Suwaisi as the best admin team member.
During the event, Mohammed al Yahmadi, Executive Director of OFA, presented some statistics about the 2023/2024 domestic league during his speech in the event. He said that the league featured 132 matches as 102 matches ended with victory and 30 games on draw note. “ Seeb Club registered 18 victories as the top team having triumphs while Al Wahda Club as the top team suffering defeats by 17 losses. 320 goals registered in the season and 26 national head coaches supervised the teams as head coaches,” he ended.
