Road works worth RO 5 million in progress in Al Sharqiyah North

AL MUDHAIBI: Al Sharqiyah North Municipality is currently implementing a number of internal road projects in the wilayats of the governorate.


The projects come within the framework of the governorate’s general plan for service, development and beautification projects for 2024. The projects include construction of new roads and rehabilitating of roads damaged by flash floods, beautification projects for the entrances to a number of villages and residential neighbourhoods in the wilayats.


Eng Munther bin Saleh al Yazidi, Head of Projects Section at the Projects Department at Al Sharqiyah North Municipality, said that Al Sharqiyah North Municipality is implementing a number of projects in the governorate’s wilayats at a cost of RO 5 million most notable of which is the paving of internal roads in the Wilayat of Bidiyah with a total length of 56 km at an estimated cost of RO 3 million, maintenance and rehabilitation of Al Wariyah Road in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi at a cost of RO 98,000, rehabilitation and maintenance of roads in the wilayats of Al Mudhaibi, Sinaw and Dima W’attayeen at a total of RO 816,000, rehabilitation and repair of damaged roads in the wilayats of Ibra, Al Qabil, Bidiyah and Wadi Bani Khalid at a cost of RO 612,000, rehabilitation of internal road in Saih Al Khashita area in the Wilayat of Sinaw, implementation of the mountain walkway in the Wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid, and the development of the village of Al Dhaher in the Wilayat of Bidiyah.


Other projects under implementation by Al Sharqiyah North Municipality include paving of internal roads in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi with a length of 35 km at a total cost of RO 1,398,979. This is in addition to the paving of internal roads in a number of villages in the Wilayat of Al Qabil with a total length of 45 km and a cost of RO 3,442,444, the official said. — ONA
