Red Warriors gear up for Chinese Taipei tie on June 6

After an impressive and outstanding show against Malaysia in the previous rounds, Red Warriors turned their attention to the forthcoming clash against Chinese Taipei which will take place on June 6, in an away game for the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2026 Fifa World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.


Oman national team players, under supervision of the Czech coach Jaroslav Silhavy switched gears on Tuesday at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex to overcome their Taipei rivals.


Silhavy will be aiming to secure their third consecutive victory in the qualifiers and continue in moving at the winning path to ensure team’s topping in the group and progressing to the next round of the qualifiers. The training sessions in Muscat began on Tuesday and the team’s delegation will travel to Chinese Taipei on Monday. Upon arrival in Taipei, the team will report back to the training sessions which will include few training practices ahead the clash on Thursday. Oman had managed to win Chinese Taipei in Muscat by 3-0 on November 16, 2023. Following the Chinese Taipei encounter, the Red Warriors will fly back to Muscat for their last group match in the qualifiers at group D against Kyrgyzstan on June 11.


All the 25 selected players for the camp commenced their internal training camp by comprised stretching and warm-up exercises. Then, it is followed by focusing on some special technical and tactical training sessions. The coaching staff worked hard to boost the players' physical fitness, technical proficiency, and overall team cohesion ahead of the forthcoming matches in the qualifiers.


The topper of group D is Kyrgyzstan team currently by nine points with goal difference than the national team who are positioned in the second place with the same amount of points. Then, the Malaysian team are third with six points and then Chinese Taipei with no points.
