Muscat: Omani chess player Mane al Kituri achieved her second victory in the third round of the 24th Dubai Open Chess Championship, organised by the Dubai Chess and Culture Club from May 24 to June 3, with the participation of more than 160 players from 40 countries.
Al Kituri achieved an important victory over Filipino player Rodolfo in her second victory in the championship, bringing total points to two. Two female players also achieved their first victories in the championship Annah al Aisi defeated Emirati player Shama al Suwaidi, and Yumna al Nudabi achieved an important victory over Indian player Krishnan. However, national team player Maria al Balushi lost to Emirati player Bashir Khalil.
The Oman Chess Committee is looking forward to this participation to present an honourable level to raise the international ranking of the players and gain more experience and strong friction in this championship, which is witnessing the participation of several world-ranked players. The Dubai Open Chess Championship is held according to the Swiss system of 9 rounds, with a match time of 90 minutes with an additional 30 seconds for each move.
