The annual COMEX exhibition, which launched here on Monday, brings together technology experts, from the government sector, leading companies, and technology enthusiasts in one place. The exhibition is an important platform for displaying the latest innovations and digital solutions that contribute to supporting the digital transformation process in the Sultanate of Oman.


In interviews conducted by the Observer, participants and visitors shared their excitement about being part of this vibrant platform, and spoke about its importance in accelerating the country’s digital transformation.


Wael al Waeli, a tech-savvy visitor, pointed out that investing in technology is considered a successful investment because it keeps pace with modern technical developments such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation. He explained that the COMEX exhibition is an important window to showcase these technologies, as it gives companies supporting the digital field and artificial intelligence an opportunity to showcase their innovations and highlight future technologies. Al-Waeli added that the exhibition plays a vital role in enhancing awareness of new technologies among visitors and participants, which contributes to supporting the digital transformation process in the Sultanate of Oman.


Sarah al Harithi, one of the participants, described COMEX as more than just a technology event, but rather an interactive platform that brings together experts, innovators and end users. She added that the exhibition provides an ideal environment for communication and cooperation between various parties, which opens the way for the exchange of ideas and experiences and the building of strategic partnerships. She pointed out that this event helps stimulate innovation and encourage more local companies to adopt modern technologies, which contributes to achieving Oman’s digital vision and developing a knowledge-based economy.


Omar bin Musa al Balushi, a long-term COMEX participant, noted that the exhibition is a comprehensive platform that brings together the latest technologies in the field of digital transformation, giving institutions and individuals the opportunity to learn about these innovations in an integrated environment that includes a wide range of electronic and technological developments. The exhibition represents a unique opportunity to benefit from these technologies and apply them in various fields. sectors, which supports the digital transformation process in the Sultanate of Oman.


Al Balushi added that event enables visitors explore advanced digital solutions such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud technologies, and big data analysis, among other innovations.


Salah bin Salem al Jaafari, an IT expert, pointed out Comex comes with many sessions, initiatives and competitions that motivate companies to participate and compete in providing the best technical solutions in various fields. In addition, this version has a new section for electronic games, and this is considered a new type of digital transformation in the gaming sector, with the support of the the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.


Welcoming the presence of the Cyber Defense Section at the exhibition, underlined the pivotal role that such entities play in securing the country’s digital infrastructure, especially in light of the increasing cyber threats worldwide.
