Omantel League 2023-24 concludes with Seeb's victory

Muscat: Seeb Club crowned the title of Omantel League at the conclusion of Oman football season 2023-24. Seeb defeated Al Shabab Club 2-0 in the final match at Seeb Sports Stadium.


Seeb dominated the game from the beginning and showed that by two early goals in the first half, both scored by Abdulaziz al Maqbali with assistance from Ali al Busaidi in the 20th and 38th minutes.


Al Shabab tried to come back in the second half, but Seeb's defence, led by the outstanding goalkeeper Faiz al Rushaidi, remained solid to end the match with 2-0 for Seeb. Al Shabab finished the season with 24 points, placing in ninth place.


Celebrations erupted as fans, management and players paraded from the stadium through the villages and areas of Al Seeb to celebrate the team's achievement.


Al Nahdha the Runner-Up


Al Nahdha defeated Dhofar 1-0 at Al Saada Sports Complex, with striker Issam al Subhi scoring in the 96th minute, securing the runner-up spot for Al Nahdha despite strong competition from Oman. Dhofar finished with 20 points.


Oman Maintains Third Place


Oman Club defeated Sur 3-2 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Sur opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Moath al Araimi, but Oman Club equalised with a goal from Mohammed al Ghafri.


Oman dominated the second half, scoring decisive goals in the 58th and 70th minutes by Abdulwahid al Hinai and Majid al Balushi. Sur reduced the deficit in the 80th minute through Yousef al Mukhaini, but it wasn't enough to avoid defeat. Oman Club maintained third place with 42 points, while Sur finished seventh with 24 points.


Sohar in Fourth Place


Sohar and Al Nasr drew 1-1 at the Sohar Sports Complex. Sohar took the lead in the 17th minute with a powerful shot from David Ndama Molinga. In the second half, Al Nasr pressed for an equaliser and succeeded in the 56th minute with a header from Ziad al Rasbi. Sohar finished fourth with 37 points, while Al Nasr was sixth with 32 points.


Bahla and Al Wahda relegated


Al Rustaq concluded their matches with a deserved 3-0 victory over Al Wahda at Al Rustaq Sports Complex. Al Rustaq dominated the game, scoring the opening goal in the 59th minute through Ahmed al Adawi, followed by a second goal two minutes later from Mohammed al Ghafri. Al Wahda couldn't mount a comeback, and Al Rustaq sealed the win with a third goal in the 92nd minute by Ahed al Mashaykhi.


Al Wahda finished the season in last place with 15 points and was relegated to the first division, while Al Rustaq secured fifth place with 32 points.


Bahla defeated Ibri 2-0 at the Nizwa Sports Complex. Bahla took the lead in the 8th minute through Mostafa al Raqishi, then added a second goal in the 90+2 minute by George De Soares. Bahla was relegated to the first division, while Ibri finished eighth with 24 points.
