Seeb take on Al Shabab as OL concludes today

Champions Seeb Club host Al Shabab in their final round match of Omantel League 2023-24 season at the Seeb Sports Stadium on Friday.


Seeb, who have ensured their third OL title, aim to achieve one last victory in the league this season against their guests Al Shabab, creating a celebratory scene in front of their fans, who are expected to fill the stands of Seeb Sports Stadium. Al Shabab enter the match aiming to defeat the champions, hoping to raise their points total to 27 and improve their position to seventh place in the final standings.


The league trophy will be presented to Seeb at their stadium on Friday evening under the auspices of Shaikh Talal bin Said al Maamari, CEO of Omantel.


At Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Oman Club seek to secure three points when they host Sur in Bausher. Oman Club aim for a win to ensure second place if Al Nahdha falter. Sur, on the other hand, enter the match with the motivation to improve their position, aiming to snatch the seventh place from Al Shabab.


AL NAHDHA EYE SECOND SPOT


Al Nahdha seek to secure the runner-up position when they visit Dhofar at Al Saada Complex in Salalah. Al Nahdha understand the importance of achieving a win to settle the battle for second place with Oman Club, especially since they are only one point ahead of their pursuer. Dhofar, having secured their place in the league, aim to renew their victory against Al Nahdha and hinder their ambitions for second place.

At Sohar Sports Complex, Sohar host Al Nasr, hoping to snatch the third place from Oman Club. Sohar aim for a valuable win and for Oman Club to lose to ensure a third place and bronze medals. Al Nasr, on the other hand, aim for a win to maintain their fifth place, currently holding 31 points and facing pressure from Al Rustaq, who are in sixth place with 29 points.


At Al Rustaq Sports Complex, Al Rustaq will host Al Wahda, aiming for a win to snatch fifth place if Al Nasr lose. Al Wahda, already confirmed to be relegated to the First Division League next season, seek a morale-boosting win.


At Nizwa Sports Complex, Bahla host Ibri. Ibri look to break the tie with Al Shabab and Sur, aiming to claim seventh place in the final standings. Bahla, already officially relegated, seek an honorary win to conclude their league journey.


FINANCIAL AWARDS


The Oman Football Association (OFA) has set financial awards for the top six teams in the league. The league champions will receive a financial prize of RO 50,000, along with the league shield and gold medals. The club finishing in second place will receive a purse of RO 30,000 and silver medals.


The third-place club will get RO 20,000 and bronze medals. The club finishing in fourth place will receive RO 15,000. The club finishing in fifth place will receive RO 10,000, and finally, the club finishing in sixth place will receive RO 5,000.
