In Oman's rich history, many talented people have significantly contributed to the nation and the world. These luminaries include scholars, poets, doctors, and historians.

Their achievements, recorded in history, are a testament to Oman's rich cultural heritage. Starting with science and medicine, Dr Rashid bin Omairah was a prominent figure in Omani history who significantly contributed to medicine and pharmacy. He was recognised by UNESCO for his influence on Oman's civilization during its 37th General Conference in 2013. Dr. Rashid was known for his exceptional medical skills, successfully treating countless patients, some of whom suffered from incurable diseases. People from near and far sought his expertise.

Another renowned Omani figure in medicine is Dr Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Azdi, who has made significant contributions to the field of physics. He has advanced our understanding of the universe by studying the fundamental forces of nature. Dr Al Azdi's interdisciplinary approach has helped to bridge the gap between science and philosophy, making him an eminent figure in the scientific community. His work has had a lasting impact on the field of physics.

Shaikh Nour Al-Din Abdullah bin Humaid Al Salmi's contributions to the social and religious fields have been recognized by UNESCO, which has named him one of the world's most influential figures. Shaikh Al Salmi was a prolific writer who has contributed substantially to various fields, including religion, jurisprudence, hadith, Arabic language sciences, and history. Women scholars have also helped shape the richness of Oman's history. Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid bin Khasib Al Riyamiya, despite her visual impairment, was a well-known scholar and jurist from Wilayat of Bahla. She contributed significantly to Omani scholarship, providing jurisprudential answers and writing a multitude of works. She established a library dedicated to preserving various sciences and jurisprudential books and had a school from which many scholars graduated.

Like Shaikh Al Salmi and Shaikha Aisha, His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, Grand Mufti of Oman, is known for his deep knowledge of Islamic culture and religion. Described as a voice of truth, Shaikh Al Khalili is known for his scholarly stature, bravery, and intense pride in his nation. He always takes advantage of every opportunity to participate in significant events and express his opinions.

Many eminent Omani historians have also shaped Oman's history and culture. One of them is Hamid bin Muhammad bin Raziq, who is not only a historian but also a poet. Through his poetic talent, he has immortalised the struggles and victories of Oman's people. Even today, his contributions to various sciences are recognised and celebrated by his inclusion in UNESCO's programme. His numerous works, such as Al Ain and Prosody, display his profound knowledge and influence in various disciplines.

In literature, Abu Jabal Al Habsi was another jurist and poet from Oman. He was born in Al Mudhaibi in 1878 and later moved to Bidiyah. He composed numerous poems, literary treatises, and jurisprudential writings, some of which are documented in the book Al Durr al Nazim. Muhammad bin Al Hassan bin Duraid al Azdi, also known as Abu Bakr, was a famous scholar and poet from Azd Oman belonging to the Qahtan tribe. He is known as one of the most authoritative figures on language and literature. Bin Duraid was said to be the most poetic of scholars and the most knowledgeable of poets.

Many influential leaders have helped guide the country through change and transformation throughout Oman's history. He relentlessly fought against the Portuguese until he finally succeeded in expelling them from the country. Likewise, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Busaidi was one such leader who played an important role in shaping Oman's political landscape. With his wise and determined leadership during critical moments in Oman's history, he ensured that the country continued progressing and earning respect from its people. As did his predecessors, Saeed bin Sultan played a critical role in guiding the nation through challenging times. With his unwavering commitment to promoting stability and prosperity, he helped establish Oman as a regional leader, solidifying its identity as a bastion of peace and diplomacy. Not too far ago, and imprinted in the minds of the Omani people, Sultan Qaboos was an influential leader in Oman's history, known for initiating significant reforms and building the nation. His vision and dedication to Oman's progress led the country towards prosperity.
