Muscat: To ensure the quality of the service provided to subscribers, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has launched a project to measure fixed broadband services (home internet)
The integrated system will measure fixed broadband services (home internet), verify the quality of service provided to the beneficiary by measuring several indicators and compare them with the package announced by service operators, through a device designated for that purpose.
TRA will provide the device to subscribers to fixed broadband services for free, which will enable them to evaluate various packages.
The device will be connected to the user’s home network to verify companies’ commitment to the level of service provided accurately for a specific time and to measure several indicators such as the download and upload speed, network response time, network outages, and other indicators.
TRA aims to protect the interests of users, ensure transparency and consumer satisfaction, and enhance competition based on quality of service.
The device can be requested by contacting TRA on its website, email, call center, and WhatsApp service.
