KERALEEYAM 2024 CONCLUDES

MUSCAT: Keraleeyam 2024, held in Muscat under the aegis of Kala Muscat, concluded. A large number of people from different parts of Oman witnessed the cultural festival, which began at 6.30 pm on Friday at the Ruwi Al Falaj Grand Hall. The programmes were inaugurated online by Kerala's Minister for Culture and Youth Affairs Saji Cheriyan. Oman Chamber of Commerce Board Member Dr Abdul Latheef Uppala, Loka Kerala Sabha member and Pravasi Welfare Fund Director Wilson George, Falcon Printers owner Surendran, Malayalam Mission Oman Chapter President Sunil Kumar and Techmark representative Pradeep Panikkassery were present in the occasion.


The drama "Koothu", directed by noted theatre activist and director Jino Joseph, was the first programme performed on the stage. The drama performed by expatriate artists received with huge applause. Many people who have been living an expatriate life in Oman for a long time commented that Koothu is the best drama they have seen in their life in Oman. Those who attended the event said that the play is a mirror to the existing social conditions and congratulated the Arts Muscat leadership for conducting the event.


Natana Kairali, which blended the history and identity of Kerala, was also noted. The event, which was attended by women and children, showcased the traditional art forms of Kerala such as Kathakali and Theyyam. Kalamandalam Sreelakshmi and Meenakshi M Menon directed Natakairali and brought to the stage.


Keraleeyam 2024 concluded with music band performed by renowned singer Ishaan Dev and his team.


A large number of people participated in the cultural festival through out the event.


Organising committee members Nishant, Krishnakumar, Biju Kuttamath and Arun said that they would like to thank the entire people for making Keraleeyam 2024 a huge success and that Kala Muscat would continue to come forward to carry out such different and unique art activities.
