Muscat, May 19
Al Suwaiq Club announced an integrated investment project that includes football stadiums, a gym and an olympic swimming pool, in addition to building of 30 residential units with a hotel feature to and focusing on sustainability and smart energy.
HH Sayyid Firas bin Fatik al Said, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Suwaiq Club, reviewed the investment file of the club's future projects, at the general assembly meeting.
The investment project will be at the current club's area, including three different football yards, an administration building, entertainment centre, a multi-purpose hall, an Olympic swimming pool, fitness hall, parking, a physical therapy centre and accommodation for players.
HH Sayyid Firas explained that: “All approvals had been obtained from all relevant government departments. We made great efforts to make the club a destination for all community groups in the state and through it also created a good environment by establishing these projects. And all current buildings will be demolished.”
“We expected to begin in November and to be completed after approximately 15 months. Three main football yards will be constructed with several entrances, including main and sides entrances. The main stadium integrated from all sides with a main platform and surrounding stands.” he added.
His Highness indicated that: “Administrative offices building will be a mini museum with smart screens and include an Olympic swimming pool with international specifications.”
“30 housing units will be built in order to service internal camps from inside and outside of Oman, with an integrated hall for technical staff, players and media, a physical therapy centre and two prayer rooms. In addition, the mini hall includes all the club's achievements.”
“The investment project will focus on sustainability and smart energy, as solar panels will be used to reduce electricity consumption. And to activate the water treatment technology system.”
HH Sayyid Firas confirmed it will provide replacement fields for training during the construction, as well as for age groups and other games such as handball and volleyball.
Al Suwaiq club president distinguished the first football team freezing will continue to return to play after 3 seasons, to succeed the investment plan.
Al Suwaiq Club Chairman extended his sincere thanks to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth under the leadership of HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, to Basil bin Ahmed al Rawas, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, and to all parties of government services to overcome all difficulties and obstacles.
