Dima W’attayeen, one of the wilayats of Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, is about 170 km away from Muscat. Its terrain varies between mountainous environments, caves, valleys, and springs.


Al Jabal Al Abyadh or The White Mountain, Buhban Cave, Wadi Dayqah, Ain al Murr, Ain al Sukhna, Ain al-Misfah, Ain Ajama, Ain al-Ajaf, Ain Tamah, Ain Maqta’, Ain al-Zarqa, Ain Qabat and Ain al-Zam are some of its major attractions. Dozens of people visit springs to recover from some skin diseases.


Dima W’attayeen attracts visitors to it for its beauty and splendor. The wilayat has many wadis that flow throughout the year. A few years ago, many tourist places were developed, including Samoot Natural Park, Al Ghubra Natural Park, and Al-Shakhra Natural Park. These sites are frequently visited by tourists from various governorates, especially during official holidays.

Samoot is ranked as one of the most beautiful tourist areas, where tourists find psychological comfort in harmony with nature and tranquility. This area has many natural pools in which some people practice swimming.


For those who love climbing high mountains, Al Jabal Al Abyadh has recently been connected by a dirt road. Recently, one of the large caves called Abu Habban Cave was discovered in the village of Soot.


Its residents depend on Aflaj to irrigate their farms, which produce dozens of varieties of local vegetables and fruits. There are nearly 224 active aflaj in this wilayats. There are historical sites like Al Hamam fort, Khaba fort and Al Housn fort.

The residents of this wilayat are also into herding, blacksmithing and pottery making. Its residents are famous for breeding Arabian horses and they take part in Al Razha, Al Azi during the social, religious and national occasions.


Although the weather temperatures have begun to rise, the waters of the valleys of this wilayat contribute to cooling the atmosphere and provide the opportunity to spend time in the lap of nature.
