Muscat, May 16

National University of Science and Technology (NUST) announced that its College of Medicine and Health Sciences has been granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Medical Education Programmes (TEPDAD) and approved by OAAAQA. This came during the press conference held under the auspices of Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, at the ministry premises.

This rigorous evaluation process ensures that the college meets the high standards set by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).

The accreditation is a testament to the college’s commitment to excellence in medical education. The process involved a comprehensive self-evaluation report, a site visit by a team of experts, and a final review by TEPDAD.“This accreditation is a pivotal moment in our capacity to implement progressive and contemporary curricula within the realm of medical education,” said Dr Ali al Bimani, NUST Vice-Chancellor.

“This accomplishment underscores our unwavering dedication to upholding standards of excellence, professional proficiency and continual advancement in nurturing the next generation of medical practitioners,” said Dr Salim al Araimi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of the University.

Professor Mohammed al Shafaee, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, said, “This full accreditation affirms our steadfast commitment to producing highly competent doctors who are prepared to meet the challenges of the healthcare profession.”
